2021 SNU NEWS World Student Forum
SNU NEWS brings a topic about the future of Northeast Asia trade in the era of Biden with international scholars’ and students’ voices. As Joe Biden has been inaugurated as the 46th president of the United States on January 20, it is expected that a new wave will be spread to Asia as well. Where does the trade go? This forum aims to view the transition and find what Northeast Asia has to do. In the latter part, we are planning to make a discussion of ‘what kind of trade rules the world should construct.’
Forum Schedule & Program Introduction
2021 SNU NEWS FORUM consists of conversation among USA-Korea-Japan expert and professor panels, free discussion within student panels, and real time Q&A session. This forum will be proceeded in English. Here’s the main agenda of each program.
Student Organizing Committee
Participate in the active field of exchange of opinions between international students and experts. Student panels will organize specific contents of forum with student organizing committee, experts, and professors from March 1 to 18. If you join as a student panel, we will issue you a certificate of activity.

Real time Q&A session
Panels will receive questions from audience, and close the forum with the host’s remark.

Biden government’s direction of policy in technologic and industrial hegemony competition with China
Each expert and professor panel will have a 10 minute presentation about the topics above. Based on the presentations, panels including students will share opinions and raise questions about the agenda.

Direction of Northeast Asia Trade in the Era of Biden: Path of USA, Japan, and Korea
After the presentation and the conversation between the panels, free discussion between student panels will start. First, student panels will discuss how the predicted change in U.S-China relation will affect U.S, Korea and Japan respectively. Then, they will disucss how the three countries should respond to the changes.
